PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional will defend all 21 state seats it currently holds in the upcoming Melaka state election, its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

Zahid, who is also Umno president, said the coalition had decided not to share any of the seats it currently holds with other parties.

Melaka has 28 state seats.

"The Melaka Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh), who is also the Melaka BN chairman, has informed me that he is determined to defend all 21 seats won by BN," said Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, after the ministry's monthly assembly here today. - NST
