Luno to host institutional digital asset conference on Sept 24

Lidac26 seeks to reinforce Malaysia’s leadership in Southeast Asian financial innovation while demonstrating proactive support for regulated digital assets.

The one-day Luno Institutional Digital Asset Conference, or Lidac26, will bring together delegates from across the region to explore institutional-grade digital asset adoption.
PETALING JAYA:
Luno, Malaysia’s leading digital asset exchange, will hold the second edition of the Luno Institutional Digital Asset Conference (Lidac26) on Sept 24.

The one-day conference, to be held from 8.15am to 6pm at the M Resort & Hotel Kuala Lumpur, will bring together delegates from across the region to explore institutional-grade digital asset adoption.

Lidac26 will feature industry leaders and experts from regulators, fund managers and others as keynote speakers and panellists, as it dives deeper into practical strategies for the institutional adoption of digital assets, spanning stablecoins, tokenisation, real-world assets, custody and compliance.

Those slated to speak include Securities Commission Malaysia executive director of digital strategy and innovation Wong Huei Ching, Luno CEO James Lanigan, and Eko Rizanoordibyo, interim digital financial asset head of Indonesia’s Financial Service Authority.

Others lined up include HSS Advisory CEO Harjit Singh, AmBank chief compliance officer Faradina Ghouse, Maybank chief compliance officer Inn Sann Yiow, CoinGecko co-founder Bobby Ong and BitGo (Asia-Pacific) managing director Angela Ang.

Luno Malaysia country manager Scarlett Chai said the conference presents Malaysia with a meaningful opportunity to drive the conversation on responsible and sustainable digital asset adoption, even as the country’s digital asset sector reaches a key inflection point.

“As we move towards building the infrastructure, governance and institutional capabilities needed for responsible adoption at scale, Lidac26 provides a platform for meaningful dialogue between policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, investors and digital asset businesses,” Chai said in a press release.

The conference is also claimable under the Human Resource Development Corporation, with attendees eligible to chalk up continuing professional development points from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia and CPA Australia.
