Police confirm drug suspect shot dead in Seremban

Police have confirmed that a man suspected of drug-related activities was shot dead in Garden Homes, Seremban, at 1.50pm today.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said the Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department (NCID) would disclose the details of the incident at the Seremban police headquarters tomorrow, Bernama reported.

He added that the suspect, believed to be in his 50s, had a prior criminal record with eight previous convictions, including drug-related offences and was also wanted in connection with a case under the Kidnapping Act 1961.

A resident, who wanted to be known only as Ali, 72, said a neighbour told him about the incident and said he had heard what sounded like several gunshots. Ali said he did not hear them himself as he was indoors.

“After that, I saw many patrol cars. The road leading to the scene was cordoned off with police tape,” he said.

Ali said that about a week ago, residents noticed several cars they considered suspicious parked near the area around midnight. - FMT
