DagangHalal expands manufacturer support through RakanRobot following MIHAS 2026

GLOBAL halal-verified business-to-business (B2B) e-marketplace operator DagangHalal.com is expanding its support to the manufacturing fraternity through RakanRobot, a subscription-based, rent-to-own automation model in collaboration with automation specialist T-Robot Sdn Bhd.

Available following the conclusion of MIHAS 2026 (the 22nd edition of Malaysia International Halal Showcase), RakanRobot is intended to provide suitable manufacturers with a more manageable entry point into robotics by reducing the need for a full upfront machinery purchase.

Subject to factory assessment, technical suitability and agreed commercial terms, the model may be applied to selected processes such as packaging, palletising and material handling.

The approach allows a manufacturer to begin with one defined production bottleneck or repetitive task rather than attempting to automate an entire factory at once.

Further applications can then be considered in phases based on operating requirements, workforce readiness and the commercial case.

According to DagangHalal the model addresses a practical challenge faced by many small and mid-sized manufacturers: the need to improve productivity and consistency while managing capital expenditure carefully.

A phased approach may also support more efficient use of labour, equipment and production resources, contributing to operational resilience and more sustainable manufacturing practices.

‘RakanRobot compliments HIAS’

“Automation must begin with a clear operating need and a realistic assessment of cost, process suitability and expected benefit,” DagangHalal pointed out in a statement.

“RakanRobot provides manufacturers another option to consider by allowing selected robotics to be adopted through a subscription-based, rent-to-own arrangement.

In the B2B e-marketplace operator’s contention, a practical starting point would be to identify a repetitive or labour-intensive process and to determine whether automation is suitable in manageable stages.

“We’re not suggesting that every factory can become a smart factory overnight,” stressed DagangHalal.

“This can help manufacturers strengthen productivity and consistency while building the capabilities needed to meet the delivery, quality and compliance expectations of international buyers.”

Alongside RakanRobot, DagangHalal continues to promote its Halal Internal Assurance System a.k.a. HIAS.

HIAS is a cloud-based platform designed to help businesses centralise halal and food-safety documentation, monitor certificate validity, manage audit activities and corrective actions and strengthen traceability across ingredients and suppliers.

RakanRobot and HIAS are intended to complement each other across the manufacturing workflow. RakanRobot supports automation on the factory floor while HIAS provides a structured platform for managing compliance records, traceability and audit readiness.

DagangHalal is also working towards enabling selected operational data from robots and machinery to feed into HIAS, thus creating a stronger link between production activity and compliance evidence.

This integration remains under development and will be introduced progressively based on technical and customer requirements.

It follows DagangHalal’s participation at MIHAS 2026 where the company highlighted the relationship between manufacturing readiness, halal compliance and international market access.

MIHAS 2026 generated RM6.78 bil in total sales, 12% more than the previous year, a reflection of continued international demand across the halal economy.

The RakanRobot offering is consistent with the direction of Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 which promotes greater technology adoption and includes an ambition to establish 3,000 smart factories by 2030.

DagangHalal said its role is to help manufacturers evaluate practical starting points rather than make broad claims about immediate factory transformation. –  Focus Malaysia
