Azmin takes veiled potshots at Khalid

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has taken veiled potshots at Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim after being dropped as a member of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) board of directors.

In a series of postings on Twitter, Azmin repeatedly referred Abdul Khalid as "Mr U-Turn" without naming him.

"Only Mr U-Turn can say so," he said when responding to a tweet by Najwan Halimi which read "Issue of Azmin Ali's sacking from PKNS, what corporate governance allows the general manager to sack a board of director member?"

Malaysiakini had reported that Azmin, who is also Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyperson, was dropped by Abdul Khalid from PKNS despite other incumbents who are still Selangor state assemblypersons being retained.

Abdul Khalid had insisted that the move will not be reversed despite urgings by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, but attributed the decision to PKNS general manager Othman Omar.

Azmin repeated the "Mr U-Turn" label when another Twitter user Hasmi Hashim questioned: "Only in Selangor the general manager can sack a board of director member".

He also responded to a tweet by Abdul Khalid's press secretary Arfa'eza Abdul Aziz who said that Azmin's removal was PKNS' management's own decision, stating: "Kangkung statement".

Abdul Khalid is the chief executive officer of PKNS, a position which is reserved for the menteri besar.

MB to meet PKNS on Monday

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that Abdul Khalid will convene a meeting with the PKNS management on Monday to discuss the status of Azmin Ali.

He said he would discuss the matter with PKNS general-manager Othman and executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek to find solution to the issue.

"We will not take any action or issue any statement until we meet with general manager and executive secretary," he told reporters after attending a dialogue with Felda settlers in Kuala Selangor today.
