Show all, DAP tells Najib after Muhyiddin video goes viral

DAP today urged Datuk Seri Najib Razak to come clean to Malaysians after a leaked video showed Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin saying the prime minister admitted that some RM2.6 billion was transferred into his personal bank accounts.
"Have a tell-all and show-all press conference. He has to show that he has nothing to hide," DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said today.
"When will he show all his closed bank accounts? Even if they have been closed, he can still show them.
Lim said Najib must explain as it was no longer just about his or Umno's image.
"This is now about the nation's image. We are the laughing stock of the world now. International news about Malaysia is on the 1MDB scandal. There is no good news at all.
"And it has grown even bigger than MH370 and MH17," he said, referring to the twin Malaysia Airlines tragedies last year.
In the leaked video that has gone viral since yesterday, Muhyiddin was seen telling guests at his home on Tuesday evening that he confronted Najib on The Wall Street Journal's (WSJ) report that US$700 million (RM2.67 billion) from 1MDB-linked firms were deposited into the prime minister's personal accounts.
"I asked him (Najib) from whom? He did not mention the name, from somewhere in the Middle East. How much?... Hard to count, he said 'a lot, a lot'.
"Then I asked why was it transferred to your accounts?... Why did it enter Najib Razak's accounts? How much money? US$700 million.
"If you multiply that by three point something... 2.6 billion goes into his personal account. He said this, he admitted," Muhyiddin, who was removed as deputy prime minister last Tuesday, was heard saying in the video, which ended abruptly after he said, "So I said why did you put into your personal account".
The clip also showed Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, who visited Muhyiddin at the latter's home in Bukit Damansara the same day after Najib announced the Cabinet reshuffle.
Lim said he hoped Najib would now heed calls for him to explain, now that the video has gone viral.
"This is not what the opposition said. This is Muhyiddin saying Najib admitted receiving the money. We hope he will answer personally.
"We hope he won't hand it over to Datuk Ahmad Maslan to answer on his behalf because Ahmad is not convincing.
"The people don't believe him (Ahmad). He had in the past hurt the people's feelings over the goods and services tax," he added, referring to the deputy minister of international trade and industry.
Ahmad, who was previously the deputy finance minister, was attacked over his defence of the controversial goods and services tax (GST).
Lim also hit back at PAS vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah for criticising for talking too much
Lim said he would continue to make statements to speak up for truth and justice and to fight corruption.
"I want to tell Nik Amar that I will continue to speak. If I lose in the election because I speak out for the people, so be it.
"I won't be a person who fears speaking out and defending what is right because I am afraid of losing in an election," he said.
Lim said Nik Amar's statement showed that PAS would only criticise DAP and not the prime minister or Umno.
"He is just like Hadi who is not making his stand on the cabinet reshuffle and sacking of Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail," he said, referring to PAS president, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Nik Amar reportedly said that "DAP talked too much" and that Lim should learn to "reserve" statements in order to avoid trouble.
He was responding to Lim's earlier remark that all those who support the Barisan Nasional administration would suffer defeat in the next general election, including PAS, because of the 1MDB scandal.
