Two Selangor PKR Youth leaders distance selves from rebels

Two Selangor PKR Youth division heads have denied being part of a group who are against Muhammad Izuan Kasim being appointed as their state chapter leader.

In a joint statement today, V Jisnukvitran and S Surendran said their inclusion in the list of 12 PKR Youth division chiefs in the protest note yesterday was done without their consent.

"Issuing such a press statement without taking into consideration the individual positions held by (the division leaders) is done by those who are without integrity.

"They are doing so intentionally to disturb the harmony developed through the recent party leadership election," said the duo.

Jisnukvitran and Surendran are the elected PKR Youth division chiefs for Bangi and Kuala Langat respectively.

They said Selangor PKR Youth should be focussing their efforts on appealing to young voters instead of indulging in actions which may tarnish the party's reputation.

Yesterday, a joint statement purportedly signed by 12 PKR Youth division heads had objected to Izuan's (above) appointment on grounds that he was "being controlled" by others.

This joint statement claimed that the 12 were backing Rawang assemblyperson Chua Wei Keat as Selangor PKR Youth chief.

There are 22 PKR divisions in Selangor.

Under PKR rules, the state youth chief is an appointed position.

Yesterday, newly minted PKR Youth chief Adam Adli announced the full list of 14 state youth chiefs.

He claimed that the list was drawn after consulting PKR Youth division heads. - Mkini
