Najib Copycatting Chameleon?

I attended our periodic power breakfast this morning - to find out again how little I know. 

The breakfast itself is actually just one roti canai garing with teh-c kosong (for me) plus kuah ikan tenggiri. The roti garing and the tenggiri were top notch.  Being the youngest at the table (until Dato Biker rode in) I busted my quota and had a second roti garing. It was good.

The elders chided me a little about my recent 'sewel' comment. The suggested solution? That I change the spelling from 'sewel' to 'say well'.  It is better to 'say well' about the PM.  

There was plenty talk about the PM's recent 'Memperkasakan Ekonomi Bumiputra' speech. If you drop the 'mem' and the 'kan' then it becomes Perkasa Ekonomi Bumiputera aka Ibrahim Ali's Perkasa.  The comment was if Ibrahim Ali steps down then Perkasa will have a better future. In short Ibrahim Ali is a liability to Perkasa. Unfortunately Ibrahim cant read too well so he wont be reading this either.

By the same token, if Anwar Ibrahim resigns from politics and the PKR, more Malay professionals and other Malays will be tempted to join PKR. But neither Ibrahim Ali nor Anwar ibrahim will do the right thing. So they will end up doing the wrong thing. Ha ha.

Another comment was that the PM's speech was too heavily slanted to pander to the Malays, especially grass roots UMNO members, Perkasa supporters and such. 1Malaysia, 'PM untuk semua' etc all had to go out the window for a while. Hence all the rhetoric by MCA, DAP and other Chinese interests. 

It was no more a "PM Satu Malaysia" speech. Granted the Chinese did not vote for the PM but wasnt it the PM who started wearing Chinese clothes and gave out tanglongs and such? Habis sekarang camno Dato Sri? Send the cheongsam to the 2nd hand clothes store? The speech was a 'straight off the shelf' PR pitch.  Then I also heard that the  PM's speech had been heavily tampered by this guy here. 

As the Director of the BN's War Room, he screwed up the General Elections. He is screwing the whole country over the TPPA. Now he has screwed up the PM's Perkasa Ekonomi Bumiputera speech as well.  Folks, we will be hearing of more and more screw ups not just by Jamaludin Jarjis but also by the PM's other Advisors. Trust me on this one ok. Their roller coaster ride (and our nightmare) is just beginning. Belum reach the peak yet.

On the light side, the Gomen is also becoming aware that the Pemandu, Teraju and EPU are not only lame ducks but also becoming a laughing stock (largely because of Idris Jala and Pemandu). 

There has been a suggestion to merge all three ie Pemandu, Teraju and EPU. To get the ball rolling a con-sultan will likely be appointed (for at least a few million Ringgit I am sure) to study how to combine the three into one. The con-sultan will also have to come up with a new name for the merged entity. Merapu, Penipu and Raju are names that may crop up. My favorite is Pupu.

There was also talk that Syarikat Perumahan Negara may be merged with PR1MA. Someone has suggested it. However Jamaludin Jarjis has resisted the suggestion - unless he is appointed to head the new enlarged entity. Lagi banyak duit. 

I also gathered that the PM is actually trying to be another chameleon like Anwar Ibrahim. May I share some free advice? Better not. No one else has the chameleon skills of Anwar Ibrahim. There can only be one Anwar Ibrahim in this world - which is more than enough.

When he sits with the Jews, Anwar can tell them he is a friend of Israel. When he sits with the Arabs, Anwar can fool them about Islamic brotherhood. When he talks to the PAS in the kampongs, Anwar can talk about the Palestinian jihad. This is typical Anwar Ibrahim, depan belakang semua boleh. For these skills, Britain's eminent Economist Magazine labelled Anwar a chameleon.

Is Najib trying to be the same chameleon? The breakfast meeting today was informed that Najib has told the Majlis Tertinggi UMNO (confidentially, behind closed doors) that Malaysia is not overexcited about the TPPA. Najib has told the Majlis Tertinggi that Malaysia has not fully committed ourselves yet to the TPPA (or words to that effect). 

In other words Najib is saying one thing behind closed doors and saying something different to everyone else outside. Well folks, if 35 Ahli Majlis Tertinggi heard it, how long do you think before the information bocor? 

How else do you think I (and now you) came to know about this? The question is wont Obama already know about Najib's "behind closed doors" remarks - no matter where he made them?  The CIA is everywhere. They dont need to read my Blog to find out what Najib is up to. Wont that affect the PM's (and Malaysia's) credibility?

And here is more 'behind closed doors' information. At the recent Bloggers meeting at Janda Baik - which I did not attend - the PM was asked about the appointment of Waythamoorthy to the Cabinet and his very public gestures to the Chinese schools. 

The PM's reply was that he was being crafty with the Chinese and Indians. He dwelt at length about Waythamoorthy, Hindraf, the Chinese schools, Chinese votes etc (which does not make sense anyway).  The PM then told the Bloggers at Janda Baik (all 400+ of them) NOT to divulge this info outside. He did not want the Chinese and Indians to know what he was saying "behind closed doors".  

Dato Sri, in Malaysia everyone speaks behind closed doors. The Malays talk about the Chinese, Chinese talk about Malays, Indians talk about Chinese, Chinese (in DAP especially) talk about Indians - all behind closed doors. That is what makes Malaysia so special. 

But there is no such thing as 'behind closed doors' involving 400 Bloggers. I received info about the Janda Baik meeting from people who were not there but who were getting live updates!! I think the PM knows all that. It is obvious that the PM was actually trying to fool the 400 UMNO Bloggers in Janda Baik.  He was playing chameleon with the Bloggers as well. Tak baik macam tu Dato Sri. You are underestimating them.
