Malaysians, not just Malays, to suffer from 1MDB grand sale

YOURSAY | ‘Ibrahim Ali, remember what Najib uttered after GE13?’
Legit: This Malay supremacist organisation (Perkasa) should understand it is all Malaysians' assets that have been pawned and sold to foreigners in order to cover 1MDB's losses.
National assets (the former Sungai Besi air force base and others) were first sold cheaply to 1MDB, then revalued a couple of times.
Malaysian banks were forced to give loans to 1MDB using these assets as collateral. The money was supposed to have been used to buy stakes in PetroSaudi International and other 'overseas investments' but was allegedly siphoned off to companies linked to Jho Low and others, a portion of which also possibly ended up in Najib's personal bank account.
Now to cover the losses incurred by 1MDB, other national assets (Bandar Malaysia, Edra Global Energy) are being sold to the Chinese.
Where will all these end and what will happen to our country? When non-Malays speak up on these issues, the Malays think they are challenging Malay ‘maruah’ (dignity).
This morning I was with some friends and they told me it is time for all of us to plunder whatever we can before it is too late.
6th Generation Immigrant: "Ibrahim (Ali) said he was extremely disappointed by the sales (Bandar Malaysia and Edra Global Energy), adding that it was too late to do anything about it."
Yes, Ibrahim, you are heading in the right direction. Since you raised this issue (on how not to be cheated by the government and then actually plan to do something about it in a democratic and timely manner), you should now understand why Malaysians - like you - who are disappointed with the government, resorted to Bersih 1, 2, 3, 4.
There was nothing racial or religious in these protests, just the love of our once beautiful country being slowly destroyed before our very eyes. And we were actually trying to do something about it.
Welcome to the real world, and now that you have awaken from your slumber, what you are going to do about it? Perhaps organising Bersih 5?
Ipohcrite: Perkasa, the self-proclaimed defender of the Malays, is now crying out loud in the face of the 1MDB debacle.
But the funny thing is this: it is now merely parroting what the opposition parties have been saying all along.
Back then, Perkasa was vehemently defending the Umno-led BN government and condemning the opposition's revelations as a pack of lies. What a turnaround it has been for this organisation.
Oh Ya?: One can understand well Ibrahim Ali and other racists' bitterness and agony. Not only ‘Tong Shan’ is buying up strategic assets and prime lands, it has also pledged to buy up Malaysian bonds should other foreign investors dump them.
Isn't this worse than the old sultanate days which paid tributes to the Chinese emperor in return for protection? How could Ibrahim and other racists stomach this humiliation?
And isn't this worse than the stomping on their leaders' photos? And how could it be too late when they have not done anything to stop it in the first place?
Anonymous_39d1: Indeed, where are all the red shirts? Why don’t they go to PM's house to do their butt show?
Anonymous 2299391436500295: Foreigners, including mainland Chinese, buy property in the billions all over the United States. What’s wrong with that?
They can do that because it's a free country, and they can't take the land back to China with them. Neither can they impose Chinese dictatorship.
The Japanese used to buy US landmarks in their heyday too (and got burned). The buildings are still there, many sold back to Americans. Some not, such as Sony Studios. Even then, they wisely left the creative decisions to local talent.
Anonymous 759201436321741: In economic dominance, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), is one of the most, if not the most, dangerous of predators.
PRC reportedly has a war chest of US$3.5 trillion in foreign reserves. The United States has about US$300 billion and Malaysia, about US$95 billion. Now, you tell me how many billions make a trillion US dollars.
What do predators do? They are always on the lookout for weak preys. And who is the weakest amongst the weak? Your guess is as good as mine.
N1: It does not matter whether it is China or Singapore, the bottom line is, a country that believes in having a clean government, with leaders who fight against corruption, will always win.
Those who endorsed corruption using race and religion as their excuse will be the ones who eventually suffer.
Very soon you will see opportunists like Ali Tinju changing his name to Ali Taichi and Jamal Ikan Bakar to Jamal Steam Fish, and setting up shop in Bandar Malaysia. Now we finally see the beauty of ‘Satu Malaysia’.
Discovery: Ibrahim Ali, remember what Najib uttered after GE13? He claimed it was a Chinese tsunami which resulted in BN doing badly at the polls.
Yet he is now creating an even bigger Chinese tsunami for our future generations by selling our national assets to China. And he has no qualms about doing that.
I hope the Malays whom you claim to defend wake up, and the sooner the better, and kick this bunch of good for nothing BN out in GE14.
Chinese and Christian Malaysians are not enemies of the country; it is the Umnoputras who are the real traitors.
And they are betraying not only the Malays but all Malaysians with their greed, hypocrisy and incompetence. Umnoputras will willingly pawn their own brethren if they have to, judging by what they have done in the past.
Debater: Ibrahim Ali, don't blame others. The Malays, being the majority, keep electing Umno. Who has the power to sign the TPPA (Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement) or sell these assets?
Aries46: But why sell to the Chinese when there are filthy rich Arabs donor/s who can part with RM2.6 billion just for the love of Najib and Umno - and with no strings attached too?
Why weren't the 1MDB energy and land assets offered to them instead? -Mkini
