Rosmah Mansor, who is the patron of Permata, has once again denied abusing funds allocated for the programme for her personal use.
She also urged all quarters not to question or cast aspersion on the Permata programme as it is beneficial to the people.
“This programme is for the rakyat. Nothing to do with me. I don't take the money and put it in my pocket. Not in my handbag. You can check.
“Do you think it is easy to obtain funds from the government. It is easy for the government to take our money, but when we ask (for funds), it is difficult.
“There is no way I can put the money in my handbag, no way,” said the wife of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak during a speech at an event in Kuala Lumpur this evening.
Rosmah said people should not feel apprehensive about Permata, and pose questions regarding its financial source and whatnot.
She said though the matter has been explained, questions are still asked.
“I don't understand. At times, it makes us feel disappointed.
“Do not politicise the Permata programme. We (at Permata) never ask what party your father belongs to, or say this and that party cannot enter... We don't do such things.
“Please. Whatever you read in social media is not true. This is my opportunity to explain my side of the story,” she added.
