The seven-day remand on a 53-year-old company director with the title “Datuk”, which expired today has been extended for another two days.
According to a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) spokesman, the order on the man who was held to facilitate investigations into the sale of 880 hectares of land in Ijok, Selangor to private developers at a price of RM1.18 billion, was issued by Magistrate Atiqah Abu Hassan.
He said four other men aged between 34 and 65, comprising three company directors and a Datuk, who were detained for four days since Sunday were released on bail of RM25,000 in two sureties each.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad was reported to have said that the investigation involved a transaction of around RM200 million to five companies, with each receiving around RM68 million, RM62 million, RM42 million, RM16.5 million, and RM8.5 million. - Bernama
