Malacca issues 966 warnings to smokers

The Melaka Health Department has issued 966 warning notices under the Control of Tobacco Product (Amendment) Regulations 2018 from Jan 1 to Feb 17.

Melaka Health and Anti-Drugs Committee chairperson Low Chee Leong said during the period, 2,060 food premises were checked while 12,894 pamphlets on smoking-ban were distributed.

"Owners of food premises are reminded to put up the no-smoking sign,” he said in a statement.
