Has Jais’ employer no control over it? - Ravinder Singh

“The National Fatwa Council has reportedly supported the Selangor religious authorities' raid and seizure of the Malay and Iban bibles,” said Utusan Malaysia, adding that the holy books need not be returned.
On the other hand, the Menteri Besar of Selangor had said the bibles should be returned. Perkasa and Umno’s Datuk Seri Noh Omar have also proffered their strong advice to Jais to “do their duty:. So whose instructions are Jais to follow?
Is Jais answerable to so many bosses? Let’s assume by some special arrangement it is. Even then, surely not all of them are paying the salaries of the officers of Jais.
As such, it is the Selangor government that must be paying their salaries. And surely, the party paying the salaries of an employee must have control over its employees.
The employee under no circumstances can thumb his nose at his employer and go scot-free. What sort of an employer would allow such uncouth behavior by its employees?
If the Selangor state government is paying the salaries of the Jais officers, then it is incumbent upon the Menteri Besar as head of the Selangor government and who had said that the bibles should be returned, to see that they are returned.
Allowing Jais to defy this “advice” is like allowing an undisciplined child to talk back to his parents who chide him for doing some mischief.
Parents who allow such misbehaviour by their children to go uncorrected are only encouraging them to climb over their heads.
If the officers of Jais do not want to listen to their paymaster, then it amounts to insubordination. And this is ground enough to show them the door.
Jais is seen by the public to be acting on behalf of the Selangor government. The Selangor government must therefore rise to the occasion and take the bull (if Jais behaves like a bull) by the horns before the rampaging bull gores all those in its path.
