MELAKA: The swearing-in of the Melaka executive council members is expected to take place on Wednesday.
Chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh said the proposed names had been discussed and accepted by deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Umno president, yesterday.
“As I promised, I completed the list of names of the exco lineup within 48 hours, and I will seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Ali Rustam, after he returns from abroad,” he told reporters upon arriving at the chief minister’s office at Kompleks Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh here this morning to begin his official duties as the 13th Melaka chief minister.
He declined to give details of the composition of the exco lineup from Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.
Earlier, Rauf, 62, was greeted by state secretary Zaidi Johari and staff from the state government’s administrative office.
He clocked in at 7.33am before entering his office for a brief ceremony, including a photo session with the state department heads.
Rauf, who is the Tanjung Bidara assemblyman, was sworn in as the chief minister on Friday following the resignation of Sulaiman Ali. - FMT
