BERSATU leader Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s popularity is now under serious test after several posts were uploaded on the official Facebook account of the party, urging him to quit as leader.
The posts started to appear at around 6 pm on Friday, their contents contradicting the party’s decision to dismiss several MPs and members along with deputy leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
At the time of writing, the cover of the party’s Facebook page showed a photo of Muhyiddin with a caption in large font saying “UNDUR MUHYIDDIN.” Apparently it was uploaded by the administrator of the page.
This is an indication that the official page of Bersatu may have been hijacked by those loyal to the members who received their marching orders from the party’s leadership.
The situation is surely confusing for party supporters and the public in general. The main question is for how long Muhyiddin will be in control of the party’s apparatus?
In addition, a status was uploaded directed at Bersatu’s Information Chief, quoting dialogue from the film Tiga Abdul.
Another photo uploaded today shows both Muhyiddin and PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. It says “Do not worry, we do not forget”. “UNDUR MUHYIDDIN” was written under the former PM’s picture and “TURUN ANWAR,” under the photo of PMX.
Note that the party’s Disciplinary Board yesterday announced the dismissal of 17 members, including Hamzah and Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, following violations of the party’s Constitution and Code of Ethics under Clause 22.5 of Bersatu’s Constitution. —Focus Malaysia
