KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a crocodile swimming in coastal waters in Port Dickson has gone viral on social media, sparking both shock and humour among netizens.
The short clip, originally posted by Instagram user amin_safri, shows the reptile gliding calmly through the sea, with luxury hotel villas on stilts visible in the background.
The crocodile appeared to be swimming alone as the camera zoomed in, its tail gently curving through the water near balconies where tourists would normally be seen.
The unusual sight prompted a flurry of reactions after the video was reposted, with many expressing fear and disbelief.
"Even crocodiles can swim in saltwater, I thought they were only in rivers," wrote ladyvin_official.
Another user, yaya_khan24, commented: "Oh Allah, that's so scary."
Suraiyaabdrahman said: "There really are crocodiles at Port Dickson beach? Have mercy."
Some highlighted the potential danger given popular water activities in the area.
"Oh my god! People ride jet skis there," said shafiqa.atyrra.
Others took a lighter tone, joking about the crocodile's potential prey.
"If people ride a banana boat there, the crocodile will be full," wrote mummy_syahmina.
Mom_ranea added humorously: "Even crocodiles are choosy. They don't go to cheap hotels..." - NST
