KUALA LUMPUR:
Kuala Lumpur is set to emerge as a leading destination for international concert tours in Asia through KL Headline Season 2026, which will feature 25 performances by global artistes throughout the year.

Event organiser Live Nation Malaysia said the city is set to welcome more than 500,000 local and international music fans to these concerts, which would be held at six venues.

Among those set to perform are American artistes Post Malone and The Weeknd, as well as South Korean pop stars BTS.

“KL Headline Season is expected to see thousands of people competing for tickets to the biggest concerts and performances of the year,” communications minister Fahmi Fadzil said at KL Headline Season 2026’s launch here tonight.

Fahmi also highlighted the “Buy Safe Tickets” campaign aimed at raising public awareness about concert ticket scams, including those involving artificial intelligence technology on social media.

The consumer campaign is specifically designed to protect the public from online ticket fraud.

Federal territories minister Hannah Yeoh, who also attended the launch, said Kuala Lumpur aims to become a leading regional destination by hosting more international events.

“Large-scale entertainment events have a major economic impact, including on tourism, hotels, food and local businesses,” she said. - FMT
