United States President Donald Trump said on Monday he had never visited the island owned by late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and had never even been close to it, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.
His statement comes in response to remarks by Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah, who joked about Trump and former US president Bill Clinton allegedly visiting Epstein’s island.
“Noah said, incorrectly about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. Wrong!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Trump then called Noah a “total loser” who needed to “get his facts straight”.
“It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an MC … Get ready, Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!” Trump added.
On Jan 30, US Deputy Attorney-General Todd Blanche announced that all the materials related to the Epstein case had been released.
With the latest disclosure, the total volume of released data exceeds 3.5 million files and includes mentions of numerous powerful figures, including Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Clinton, and others.
