West Coast Expressway Holdings Bhd says construction is progressing smoothly after the successful resolution of a land acquisition matter involving 19 residents in Kampung Jawa.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, Bernama reported.
West Coast Expressway Holdings Bhd (WCEHB), in a statement, said construction was progressing smoothly after the successful resolution of a land acquisition matter involving 19 residents in Kampung Jawa, Klang, last December.
Key structures, including main pillars and elevated bridge components, are now taking shape at the project site, it said.
Section 3 is regarded as a critical missing link in the overall WCE alignment.
It enhances traffic dispersal and improves connectivity for heavy vehicles travelling between the northern and southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia.
WCEHB also noted that once operational, the highway will be an alternative to the North-South Expressway, helping to alleviate congestion and improve overall traffic distribution along the west coast corridor.
Completion of Section 3 will also enhance connectivity to industrial zones in Selangor.
The WCE is a 233km interstate highway, running from Banting, Selangor, to Taiping, Perak. - FMT
