The national Pakatan Rakyat leadership council has recommended its Selangor counterpart not dissolve the Selangor legislative assembly concurrently with the 13th Parliamentary election.
"We recommend that the Selangor not hold state-level elections concurrently... We want to wait until the roll is cleaned," said Anwar.
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is expected to call for snap polls in June or September.
However, the five Pakatan-held states are not obliged to dissolve their respective legislative assemblies until their term expires in March next year.
Selangor, which has been clearly identified as BN's main target, has experienced an exponential growth in the number of voters since 2008, particularly in rural areas.
This, along with claims of a Selangor-wide citizenship-for-votes scam, has fuelled suspicion among Pakatan component parties.
