KUALA LUMPUR: The exit and entrance to the Elmina interchange along the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) have been temporarily closed after an aircraft crashed near the location today.
Prolintas said the road would remain closed until the crash site had been cleared and investigations completed.
“Firemen, police, ambulance and GCE’s Peronda personnel are currently at the crash site to clear the debris and control traffic,” it said in a statement.
Highway users are advised to use alternative routes. For inquiries, users may contact the Prolintas hotline at 1800 22 8888.
Earlier, it was reported that 10 people had been killed after a Beechcraft Model 390 light aircraft travelling from the Langkawi International Airport to the Subang airport crashed in Elmina, near Shah Alam, Selangor.
Police confirmed that the dead included eight people on board the aircraft as well as the driver of a car and a motorcyclist using the highway. - FMT
