KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) has denied that it indirectly played a role in Kelantan's massive 10-0 Super League loss to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on Saturday.
Kelantan FC owner Norizam Tukiman had claimed that a "prejudiced" mid-season transfer window resulted in the Red Warriors being unable to sign new foreign players, leading to the 10-0 loss.
FAM said in a statement on Sunday that Kelantan FC were unable to register new imports due to them failing to meet the August 1 deadline.
"FAM would like to state that the statement made by Norizam is not true," said FAM secretary general Noor Azman Rahman.
"Based on the facts, he exceeded the registration period (for foreign players in the second transfer window from July 5-Aug 1)." - NST
