MARANG: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has asked the world’s largest oil and gas company, Saudi Aramco to invest in Kemaman, Terengganu.

He said Aramco chairman Yasir O Al-Rumayyan had informed him that the company wanted to make Johor the hub for its expansion in the Southeast Asian region.

“I told him that he should go to Kemaman instead,” he said at the Terengganu Madani Unity Tour ceramah at Wakaf Tapai here last night.

Anwar said that when the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah performed the haj recently, King Salman Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also the Saudi prime minister, informed that they had agreed to make Malaysia its largest investment hub in Southeast Asia.

“All this is not because of Anwar Ibrahim, but because of the cooperation of Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Sabah and Sarawak. They know our current government is stable,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anwar said he would always remember the deeds of two former PAS political leaders, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and the late Fadzil Noor.

“They set the best example as Muslims who defended the fate of the people and loved everyone,” he said. - FMT
