PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has described Perikatan Nasional's (PN) plan to use different National Day logos and themes in the four states under its administration as crazy.
Zahid said PN Youth leader Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, who is also Pasir Mas member of Parliament (MP), does not deserve to be elected as the people's representative for having such 'narrow-minded' attitude.
"Is he crazy or what? He doesn't deserve to be an MP if he has a narrow-minded (jumud) attitude.
"This is about celebrating the National Day at the national level... not everything can be politicised.
"Hence, I hope that matters like this will not be politicised (in the future)," he said when met by reporters after attending the Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahidi Hamidi Cup Football Tournament, today.
Yesterday, Ahmad Fadhli said the four PN-led states may use different National Day logos and themes for state-level celebrations instead of those announced at the federal level.
Ahmad Fadhli said Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu would likely use the alternative logo and theme launched by PN Youth.
He said the PN Youth's logo depicts the hibiscus flower with five petals which is the national flower, taking the colours found in the Jalur Gemilang with the theme of 'Teguh Muafakat Malaysia Sejahtera' (Strong Consensus for a Prosperous Malaysia). - NST
