DAP national chairperson Lim Guan Eng has called on leaders to acknowledge their mistakes and accept constructive criticism as a path to improvement and progress.
Speaking at a Chinese New Year appreciation banquet for Bagan DAP branch members, community representatives, and local teams on Sunday night, he stressed the importance of sincerity and honesty in providing feedback.
“I, too, make mistakes but will correct them. Leaders must know their mistakes and be willing to improve.
“If there is anything that can make Seberang Prai more hopeful and developed, I welcome criticism, to make the job better,” he was quoted by the Kwong Wah Yit Poh.
Guan Eng said he is willing to accept criticism but it must be based on facts, not baseless accusations or lies.
Meanwhile, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying - who is also Guan Eng’s sister - recently said that all politicians must have the humility to step down when the time comes, especially if voters and the party no longer need their services.

“Every politician must have the right mindset, when it’s time to step down, we must accept it,” she said.
Hui Ying added that individual politicians cannot exist without their party, and the party must take precedence over themselves. - Mkini
