Former Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto is among 11 individuals appointed to the Penang DAP Indian Community Affairs Bureau.
Bureau chairperson Ramkarpal Singh announced this at a press conference today at the state DAP headquarters in George Town.
"I am confident these members will play a crucial role in achieving the bureau’s objectives. They comprise both young individuals and experienced figures who are well-versed in addressing issues affecting the Indian community and youths," he said.
Ramkarpal, the Penang DAP deputy chairperson, said the bureau was reactivated last November after being inactive since 2009.
He said the bureau would serve as a platform for the Indian community to voice various issues such as welfare, education, employment and unemployment.
