PETALING JAYA
The higher education ministry is making efforts to bring Malaysian lecturers teaching abroad back home to serve the country, says its minister, Zambry Abdul Kadir.

Zambry said his ministry had met with several parties to explore opportunities for these lecturers to return.

“The lecturers teaching abroad have a wide range of expertise. That’s why we are in discussions with them, so that they will return and teach in our educational institutions,” he said after the project handover ceremony for the new Ungku Omar Polytechnic Bercham campus in Perak today.

Zambry said his ministry would adopt the concept of academic mobility, allowing Malaysians serving abroad to contribute, either directly or indirectly, to the country.

“For example, even those in Germany can still share their knowledge and contribute to our country,” Bernama quoted him as saying. - FMT
