
ANOTHER severe storm struck Sekinchan on Tuesday (March 11), affecting nearly 30 homes in Taman Ria.
In response, the District Disaster Management Committee activated a Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Dewan Seri Sekinchan at 4.50pm to accommodate those impacted.
This is the second time Sekinchan has been hit by a storm within a week.
On March 7, a storm struck Parit 4, Sekinchan, causing significant damage to houses.
Sabak Bernam District Disaster Management Committee chairman Ali Sadikin Sadin stated that all relevant agencies have been instructed to remain on high alert in managing the situation.
"This includes providing immediate assistance to affected victims and conducting continuous monitoring to ensure their safety and well-being.
"The public, particularly those in high-risk areas, are advised to stay vigilant and adhere to official instructions and announcements from the authorities to prevent any unwanted risks," he said in the statement.
According to Sekinchan assemblyman Datuk Ng Suee Lim's Facebook, he visited Taman Ria at 4.15pm.
"An estimated 20 houses have been severely damaged.
"Thankfully, there are no reported injuries or casualties," said the state local government and tourism committee chairman on his Facebook. - Star
