The shootings in Brickfields and Cheras, which took place just days apart, have been inked to criminal disputes originating from Selangor and Sarawak.
PETALING JAYA:
Police are still working to track down the suspects involved in the two shootings in Cheras and Brickfields last week.

The statements of 19 witnesses have been recorded in both cases to assist with the investigations.

“No arrests have been made as of today. We are still working on identifying the suspects involved,” Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said in a statement.

Separately, Brickfields police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said five people who were previously arrested were merely witnesses to the incident and had been released.

On June 13, three men aged between 30 and 50 were eating with several friends at a restaurant in Brickfields when they were approached by two men on a motorcycle who fired several shots at them.

Four days later, two men were shot dead as they were walking towards their car at the lobby of a shopping complex on Jalan Loke Yew in Cheras.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said that the Brickfields and Cheras shootings were believed to be linked to criminal disputes originating from Selangor and Sarawak, respectively. - FMT
