
KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that no Malaysians have been reported affected by a landslide in New Zealand on Thursday.
In a media advisory, the ministry said the High Commission of Malaysia in Wellington is closely monitoring the situation following the incident, which occurred at a campground on Mount Maunganui at about 9.30am local time.
"The High Commission of Malaysia in Wellington is in close contact with the relevant New Zealand authorities as well as the Auckland Malaysian Society regarding the incident.
"The ministry confirms that no Malaysian nationals have been reported to be affected," the advisory said.
The ministry said Malaysians requiring consular assistance may contact the High Commission at +64-4-385 2439 (main line) or +64-21-044 0188 (emergency or after-hours consular assistance).

It added that the ministry will continue to monitor developments related to the landslide closely and will provide updates as necessary. - NST
