Former MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya has urged the government to either deny or confirm that a PKR MP had allegedly solicited and taken RM9.5 million from businessperson Victor Chin to help resolve the “corporate mafia” issue, in which Chin is implicated.
In a post on X, Latheefa said that there must be absolute transparency to the public in a matter as serious as this.
“Meanwhile, the MACC must treat this as a priority case, move in immediately to record Chin’s statement and thoroughly investigate; they must swiftly get to the truth of the matter - no need to wait around for someone to lodge a report,” she added.

Victor Chin Yesterday, after accusing the unnamed PKR MP in a 40-page chronology, Chin threatened to expose the individual’s identity unless the money was returned to him.
“I am issuing a message to this MP: Please return the RM9.5 million before March 30, 2026, or I shall expose your identity,” he said, adding that the money was paid to the lawmaker on Oct 18 last year. - Mkini
