The company was committed to continued cooperation with the central bank and will provide any further information that may be required by it.

KUALA LUMPUR: 1MDB said in a statement on Wednesday evening that it has not yet received any official correspondence or confirmation from Bank Negara on “the specific matters” attributed to the Governor on Wenesday. “We are, therefore, unable to comment further.”
The company was commenting on media reports earlier in the day on “certain statements in relation to 1MDB, attributed to the Bank Negara Governor”.
However, said the company, “we highlight that we have in the course of the past 12 months, fully cooperated to the extent possible with Bank Negara investigations, including providing documentary evidence where available”.1mdb-statement-2
1MDB added that it was committed to continued cooperation with the central bank and will provide any further information that may be required by it, “but to the extent that we have in our possession or is possible under the law”.
The company also pointed out in the statement that it completed, earlier in the day, the sale of its Edra energy assets sale to the CGN Group of China. “We trust that this significant milestone and the associated debt reduction will not be overshadowed by the comments attributed to the Governor.”
1MDB, said the statement, remains focused on its rationalisation plan, “the positive benefit of which was commented on by the ratings agency Moody’s on Wednesday”.
The success has been achieved in spite of the calculated efforts of detractors, to generate negative headlines in the face of positive developments, claimed 1MDB.
