
A 49-year-old bank officer is being remanded for seven days from today, to facilitate investigation on alleged corruption involving RM2 million.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Jassica Ombou Kakayun, following an application from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The bank officer was detained at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu at about 2.40pm yesterday for allegedly accepting bribes to approve loans by companies.
The investigation was conducted under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
Yesterday, the MACC also obtained an order to remand for seven days a 31-year-old bank officer and a 41-year-old civilian in connection with the case.
