Bungalow is a big deal, Wanita MCA leader tells Kok

A Wanita MCA leader has criticised DAP lawmaker Teresa Kok for dismissing allegations concerning DAP and other opposition leaders.
"When (there is) news involving BN leaders, Kok is quick to criticise them.
"But when it comes to controversies involving DAP leaders, she dismisses (Penang Chief Minister) Lim Guan Eng's below-market-price bungalow as no big deal," said Wanita MCA Selangor chairperson Ong Chong Swen.
Similarly, she said Kok previously downplayed the photographs showing PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah with Sulu princess Jacel Kiram.
Ong noted how the Seputeh MP had remarked, 'What's the big deal about this photo?'
As for the bungalow imbroglio, the MCA leader said Kok defended the chief minister on the grounds that the transaction was between Lim and the seller, therefore it is not an issue for DAP.
"Kok should be reminded that suspicion of whether the below-market-price sale contained benefits in return cannot be ignored.
"As a MP and former state exco in Selangor, for Kok to describe the Jalan Pinhorn transaction as 'no big deal' shows she practises double standards on BN and DAP legislators.
"Kok even went on to say 'if DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang had spoken to me or other wealthy DAP supporters to buy a house, the rich supporters who may afford it and I may offer Lim the house as a token, with due respect to him as our leader'. Kok really makes news with this eye-opener.
"Kok is quick to defend her masters which only reveals her myopia," she said, adding that the DAP lawmaker should explain what constitutes a big deal in her opinion.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, has denied any wrongdoing in the bungalow purchase while the seller has also inked a statutory declaration on the matter.
The purchase is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). -Mkini
