Cops quiz Kit Siang over remarks on Agong's speech

The police have recorded DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang's statement on his remarks related to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's speech when officiating at this year’s Parliament session.
The Gelang Patah lawmaker was summoned to the Wangsa Maju police station this afternoon in connection with reports lodged on his remarks.
Speaking to reporters later, DAP Puchong MP Gobind Singh said Lim is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.
"This is over a police report filed in Penang. They took 20 minutes to record his statement," Gobind added.
Lim had stated that the Agong's speech, which, among others, called for the continuation of the current administration, was prepared by the government.
However, the DAP leader refused to backtrack, arguing that he was merely stating the constitutional position in a constitutional monarchy and that there is nothing malicious to it. -Mkini
