DESPERATE NAJIB, UNGRATEFUL UMNO: FROM SAVIOUR OF MALAYS, DR M IS NOW A 'TRAITOR'

DESPERATE NAJIB, UNGRATEFUL UMNO: FROM SAVIOUR OF MALAYS, DR M IS NOW A 'TRAITOR'
The new "Umno Baru" Malay forgets the values which his elders once held dear. When a section of the Malay community loses its values, and also its way, they turn against their own. They go into survival mode.
Last Friday, Sungai Besar Umno Baru chief Jamal Md Yunos led 400 people in a protest against former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
This must mean that "The Chosen One" feels threatened by the Citizens’ Declaration.
Jamal and his "Red shirts" shouted “Insaf Mahathir”(Repent Mahathir) and “Hidup Najib” (Long Live Najib), when they gathered at Mahathir's office in Putrajaya.
These modern-day red-shirted lanuns (pirates) have very short memories.
Some time, ago, when we criticised Mahathir for many of today's ills, the Umno Baru supporters and Red-shirts called us every name under the sun. They said, "Mahathir is the best", "Mahathir is the saviour of the Malays" etc.
Today, the Red-shirts have done a U-turn and now call Mahathir a traitor.
We can give some credit to Mahathir for trying to get Malaysia back onto its feet.
The same cannot be said about the lanuns. Their loyalty goes to anyone who will donate to their bank accounts.
Jamal, like many “Umno Baruputras“, enjoys a Datuk title and other perks. In return, he must mobilise his thugs and threaten the peace. It is the "You help me, I help you" culture, at work.
We must ask why Jamal and his ilk, condemn themselves to a life sentence of self-denial. Why do they assume that other Malaysians owe them a living?
They will never wean themselves from the entitlement culture, which nurses them from cradle to grave.
Jamal once complained about the loss of Malay dignity. What dignity is there in torching bill-boards and disturbing the peace? What dignity is there in protesting against a 91-year-old former PM? What dignity is there in hurling insults at non-Malays? What dignity is there in transporting the elderly from the villages to boost attendance at the Kuala Lumpur Red-shirts rally?
For all we know, taxpayers’ money was used to facilitate the transportation, provision of meals and pocket money of the rural folk.
Jamal once claimed that Malay NGOs were compelled to rise, because the “DAP had brainwashed the Chinese in the Bersih 4 rally” and insulted Malay leaders.
Actually, the ones who insult other Malays, are people like Jamal and those who claim to be Malay. Ordinary Malays are ashamed of people like Jamal, because there is no dignity associated with insolence and violence.
Jamal cannot see the damaging effects of corruption, injustice and abuse of power. His values are warped. He cannot distinguish between right and wrong.
To the red-shirts, and Jamal, dignity means the ability to shout the loudest and make the crudest insults. This comes from too much praying at the altar of money, while values like upholding human rights, justice and fairness, are forgotten.
