Emulate 'gentleman' Najib, Umno MP tells Guan Eng

Umno MP Shamsul Anuar Nasarah says Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng should emulate the gentlemanly actions of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak who did not flinch and instead cooperated fully with investigating authorities when faced with corruption allegations.
"I propose that Lim follow the example of the PM, who like a gentleman ordered enforcement agencies like the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission as well as external and internal audit agencies like the Public Accounts Committee to conduct investigations," the Malay party's news site UmnoOnline quoted him as saying
The Lenggong MP said that following the PM's gentlemanly example, in his opinion, is the most proper way for an esteemed CM to handle such scandalous allegations.
Shamsul sniped that Lim doesn't have to create various issues inside or outside the Dewan Rakyat to divert the people's attention from his corruption allegations linked to a bungalow he had bought last year.
"I don't think that he should create controversy on how disappointed he was with Tasek Gelugor (BN) assemblyperson Shahbudin Yahaya to accept his invitation for coffee at his office, or create provocation in the House so that he will be ejected and gain the rakyat's sympathy," Shamsul told the portal further.
Lim's provocations, said Shamsul, only showed that the chief minister is flabbergasted and fazed by the corruption allegations facing him.
He also believed that whatever smokescreen Lim is apparently putting up to divert attention is not working, as there are already police reports over the matter.
"As a politician who loudly speaks about efficiency, trust, and integrity, I think Lim should act in line with the slogans he has been espousing all this while," concluded Shamsul.
Lim is currently being investigated by the MACC after reports were lodged alleging that he had bought a bungalow on Jalan Pinhorn in George Town, Penang, below market value, purportedly in exchange for selling state land for cheap.
The chief minister has denied all allegations of impropriety. -Mkini
