The residence of an assistant district officer (ADO) of Hulu Langat in Bandar Baru Bangi near Kuala Lumpur was attacked early today with Molotov cocktails, police said.
Three Molotov cocktails were hurled into the compound of the house of the 35-year-old officer in Section 14 at about 6.30am, said Kajang Police deputy chief Supt Abdul Ghani Mohamad Ji.
He also said that the officer found a plastic packet with nine 9mm bullets near where his car was parked and a burnt piece of cloth outside the house and near the fence.
Two of the Molotov cocktails were found near the car and one elsewhere in the compound of the house, he said, adding that the bottles had broken and there were traces of fire on the ground.
Abdul Ghani told Bernama that the house did not have any closed circuit television camera and neighbours were not aware of the incident.
“We are investigating the motive for the attack,” he said.
