People will reject the two leaders for working with the Opposition.
PUTRAJAYA: The roadshow by Muhyiddin Yassin and Mukhriz Mahathir calling for Prime Minister Najib Razak’s resignation will not garner the people’s support, MIC has predicted and will therefore be a failure.
Party president Dr S Subramaniam, who is also the country’s Minister of Health, said the rakyat would reject the former deputy prime minister and former Kedah menteri besar, as they “have erred by working with the Opposition.”
“Their act of working with the Opposition will not garner the support of anyone, including people from their own party.
Subramaniam was referring to the Citizens’ Declaration signed by the pair on March 4 together with former Premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and several leaders from the Opposition. The declaration is calling for the resignation of Najib.
“Their roadshow will not leave any form of impact in the political scenario of the country,” Subramaniam told a press conference at the Pullman Hotel here today.
Muhyiddin and Mukhriz are currently conducting a roadshow throughout Johor to explain to the people why they should reject Najib’s leadership.
Subramaniam said MIC strongly condemned the duo over this act and added, “MIC believes that whatever issues the duo have with the party, should be voiced out within the party.”
