Najib can bank on ‘cari makan’ PAC chief

YOURSAY | ‘If Najib is so confident, why not advise the Agong to establish a RCI.”
Sans Prejudice: The outcome of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) investigation, if it goes against PM Najib Razak, will never see the light of day as the all-purpose Official Secrets Act (OSA) will conveniently ensure it.
If it exonerates him, well, it will be a different story. It will be trumpeted and given full media time and the whole bunch of sycophants will go to town singing his innocence and rehashing the ignominy he had to endure.
I am not waiting with bated breath nor any optimism at all. With the new PAC chairperson (Hasan Arifin) who was appointed by him in the first place, can we really expect miracles?
Anonymous #40538199: I just don't understand. Why not Najib shows all documentary proof regarding the transactions relating to his personal accounts to put the opposition, especially MP Tony Pua, to shame.
In this way, the opposition members, which now include former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, will lose all their credibility, and Umno-BN will win big and regain it two-thirds majority in the next general election.
EmLaw: Najib, leaving aside all the billions unaccounted for, so someone put RM42 million (of SRC International’s money) into your account, and you have no knowledge of how it made its way into your account.
And despite this, you quietly spent the money... wow, talk about tall stories.
The Parliament House and country have been turned upside down and it is totally disgusting that you can still be so straight face, standing there to proclaim "that you are responsible to the people".
Roguekiller: Najib, the PAC chief is beholden to you and he had solemnly declared he wanted to "cari makan". With this "cari makan" man heading the PAC, you can be assured he won't stab you in the back.
Indeed, if you are so confident, why not advise the Agong to establish a royal commission of inquiry, with reputable personalities specially selected to investigate you?
Dalvik: First, he pleaded to let the special task force decide. Then the attorney-general asked the task force to stop investigating.
Now he pleaded to let PAC to decide, whereby the PAC chief had already said, 'Saya pun cari makan'.
Ipohcrite: With a self-confessed "cari makan" PAC chairman and an Umno majority in the PAC, Najib must be feeling very smug and cocksure that the PAC will exonerate him.
But the best laid plans can still go awry.
Mosquitobrain: Najib, why let PAC 'cari makan' guy to decide when you yourself have already made the decision?
SusahKes: Boss, why did you avoid answering the Australian reporter from ABC when he queried you about the billions in your private account?
If, by leveraging on Mahathir, Malaysians can pressure you to be finally be accountable and answerable to all the scandals associated with you, then by all means, we back Mahathir in his bid to expose you.
Aquinas Says: As astounded as we are by the turn of events, just remember, Najib, that it was under your watch that this Mahathir-opposition pact took place.
You are responsible for the new realignment of political forces in Malaysia today. It is likely that you will also be responsible for the demise of Umno in the near future.
Don’t Just Talk: If the chairman or CEO/COO of any leading institutions or corporations in Malaysia were found to have been involved with financial scandals or mismanagement, without an iota of doubt, he/she will be asked to resign or step down by the shareholders of the respective companies.
Similarly, the PM of any developed country would do the same thing if he/she is caught with RM2.6 billion in his/her personal bank account. Why is it so difficult for Najib, a highly educated individual, to understand this simple and basic principle?
Why are the Umno Baru leaders still supporting such a scandalised president and now confronted by Citizens’ Declaration, why is Najib still not resigning as PM?
He still talks about creating Felda into an economic powerhouse, when its IPO (initial public offering) price of RM4.55 in trading at RM1.55 at Bursa Malaysia!
Abu Iman: When the child is growing and makes mistakes, the caretaker will advise the child and show him or her the right way of doing things.
However, if the child continues to make many mistakes, what do you expect the caretaker to do - keep quiet and tolerate his nonsense?
It has come to the stage where the condition is intolerable and the caretaker is taking harsh actions to punish the naughty child.
Is it wrong for the rakyat to react to what is happening to the country? Who is to be blamed - the child or the caretaker? -Mkini
