Rafizi: I have document showing LTAT's link to 1MDB

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli claimed that he has copies of the federal government document which links sovereign fund 1MDB and armed forces fund LTAT.
However, before he discloses the document and its contents, he wants LTAT to confess first how may armed forces retirees have not been paid their contributions to the fund since 2014.
If LTAT fails to do so, Rafizi, who is also PKR secretary-general, said that he will reveal the contents even though the document is protected under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).
"Specifically, LTAT must announce how many armed forces retirees have not been repaid their contributions and for how long, and how many have been affected by the issue each month beginning from 2014.
"I will not hesitate to reveal the official federal document if LTAT does not disclose the list (of what I asked for) fully to the rakyat.
"This document is classified under the OSA, and I will bear full responsibility for (disclosing) it," he said during a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Rafizi, who is Pandan MP, also read out a passage from the document which supposedly touched on the payment of claims from Perbadanan Perwira Harta Malaysia (PPHM) on the cost of development for the relocation of five sites, one of which is an air base.
He also mentioned parts of the document allegedly referring to outstanding payments that 1MDB still owed PPHM until September 2015 amounitng to RM396.41 million.
"They (LTAT) know very well what this document is and I read this paragraph out to tell them that I have this document," he said.
Outstanding monies
According to Rafizi, the disclosure of the documents must be done as the payments supposedly still not paid by 1MDB to PPHM had caused LTAT subsidiary to delay its own payments to its parent company.
It is this backlog of outstanding monies from PPHM that is allegedly causing LTAT to delay its own payments to armed forces retirees, he said.
"LTAT and 1MDB have been caught with their pants down. I ask that they do not embarrass themselves further. They just need to be transparent," he said.
He also asked LTAT executive director Lodin Wok Kamaruddin to step down from his post in the armed forces fund as his concurrent position in 1MDB represents a conflict of interest.
Lodin is also 1MDB's chairperson.
"I don't care if he wants to let go of his post in 1MDB, but I ask that he step down from LTAT as it involves the welfare of armed forces retirees," he said.
LTAT has denied all of Rafizi's claims, saying instead that all of 1MDB's payments to PPHM are up to date and the fund has fulfilled all its payments to the armed forces retirees. -Mkini
