Rao hits back with police report against Khairuddin

Pertubuhan Minda Sosial dan Prihatin (PMSP) leader Ramesh Rao has lodged a report to counter the one filed by former Umno leader Khairuddin Abu Hassan against him.
Rao had earlier lodged a police report against former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the 'Save Malaysia' group, for allegedly trying to oust Najib through undemocratic means.
Then, yesterday, Khairuddin had filed a report against Rao for asking the police to beat up Mahathir.
"I am making this police report to deny all the contents of the report made by Khairuddin.
"I am also asking the police to take action against Khairuddin for making false police reports against me," Rao said in a statement today.
Khairuddin had made the report based on an article titled 'Tangkap Dr Mahathir, tumbuk dia biar hilang gigi' (Arrest Dr Mahathir, beat him till he loses teeth), Rao claimed, with the former Batu Kawan Umno division vice-chief saying that was a threat to hurt Mahathir.
After checking with a recording of his statement which the article is based upon, Rao said he never said he would hurt Mahathir.
"I only said: 'So I walk the talk. Mahathir, he said Anwar was guilty. So now, I am making a police report saying that Mahathir is guilty. Arrest Mahathir for 14 days and let him be beaten like I was beaten (during the 1998 reformasi rally), until teeth fall out'," Rao explained.
Khairuddin, in his police report yesterday, had said he believed the pro-Najib NGO chief had the intention to “intimidate with intent to injure” Mahathir.
The day before that when Rao had lodged a police report against Mahathir and the 'Save Malaysia' group, he had claimed that the group has hired 250 buses to ferry 100,000 paid protesters to a gathering on March 27.
March 27 is when former law minister Zaid Ibrahim plans to hold closed-door gathering between Umno rebels and the opposition to discuss how to remove Najib from office.
Ramesh had said that if Mahathir joined this protest, police should lock up and beat up the former premier.
