PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang will back a move to remove Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak through a vote of no confidence, said secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
He said if Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail were to table such a motion, PAS would support it.
He added that Hadi would also do the same.
"We will support the motion, if there is such motion," he said when met at Parliament lobby today, adding that the party does not support Najib's leadership.
The Kota Baru lawmaker had said on Monday PAS would support efforts to topple Najib through democratic means via a general election or vote of no confidence.
Yesterday, Hadi said that Islam does not encourage the "sacking" of leaders, but instead called upon adherents to "correct" them instead.
He had also said that PAS would not back former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said’s motion of no confidence against his successor Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
Commenting on this, Takiyuddin explained that it was because Ahmad Said had not adhered to the state legislative assembly's standing orders.
The motion, however, was rejected by the speaker.
