Those who signed declaration don’t love Felda, says Najib

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today did not mince his words when he claimed that signatories of the Citizens’ Declaration do not care about Felda.

Speaking at the Kami Anak Felda (KAF) launch today, apart from making Felda an economic powerhouse, Najib said it is also the government’s wish to turn Felda into a political powerhouse.

Felda, he said, will not be in existence without political powers.

“Those bunch of people who made the declaration two, three days ago. Do you think they love Felda?

“Do you think they have a good heart to establish Felda? No way in hell would they do it,” said Najib in his speech to cheers from the audience.

The government agency – established to resettle the rural poor – was established by Umno leaders, he added.

“That's why the second, third generation (of Felda settlers) will defend Felda!”

Reminding the audience members which are mostly made up of Felda settlers and their family members, Najib said various aid has been distributed and more will be given.

“But we need one basis – give your support to today’s leaders because we want to continue our struggle,” he said.

The KAF association, launched today, is an NGO whose membership is open to family members of Felda settlers from the age of 35 and above. -Mkini
