Which part of ‘taking responsibility’ KJ not understand?

YOURSAY | ‘Khairy has accepted responsibility and the only way out for him is to resign.’
Spirit of Malaya: I've come to the conclusion that none of the BN politicians know what it means to take responsibility for any alleged wrongdoings or crimes committed. Those who know are probably no longer in BN.
This logic has been proven beyond doubt by our honourable prime minister who had billions in his personal bank account - a fantastic feat not even matched by the president of the United States.
Sad but true, our beloved nation is on a free fall with the autopilot fully engaged.
Monty: MIC Youth chief C Sivarraajh, if the minister accepts responsibility then he must fall on his sword and resign.
If RM100 million was stolen from Penang by a government official, you and Umno will be clamouring for the chief minister's head.
Gggg: I agree with MIC. You only need to step down if you are a member of DAP, PKR or Amanah.
AntiRacial: What are you talking about? If Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ) did not even know what is going on in his ministry, then he is sleeping on the job.
Why does he still need to be holding a minister’s post? To waste taxpayers’ money?
SSDhaliwal: In Japan, a minister resigned in shame over a mere thousand dollars, in the UK an MP resigned after it was found out he tried to use his position to nullify his wife's traffic offence, here it is a matter of RM100 million and taking responsibility means you do not get to hold on to your job.
The honourable thing to do is resign whether you are complicit or not, that is taking responsibility and being accountable.
Maplesyrup: None of the BN leaders had to step down for their various wrongdoings. So KJ can be like them. Keep warming your seat please.
Negarawan: "Taking full responsibility means I have to fix the situation," said Khairy.
With his level of education, it is surprising indeed that KJ does not understand what prevention and good governance mean.
He should have prevented such massive graft from happening in the first place, especially since it was right under his nose and had been going on for years.
Oscar Kilo: Indeed, what does "fixing" mean? Will the culprits go to jail? Will the stolen money be recovered? Will the illegally purchased cars be properly repossessed and not redistributed among your staff?
Since you are in the Sports Ministry, you should know that "fixing" has another meaning in sports, as in "fixing" a football match.
Beep!: Check it out with your dons in Oxford, Khairy. Accepting responsibility means resign so a fresh pair of hands can take charge and fix the problem. You stay on and any fixing will not be credible, understand?
Anonymous 2362021442199789: Taking full responsibility should mean resigning. That would be the honourable thing to do as the minister in charge. Anything less is shirking responsibility.
Sabahan: Umno politicians have no honour. If this corruption occurs under his watch, can we expect him to fix it or cover it?
In other countries, if he does not resign, he will be sacked. In Japan, possibly seppuku, in China, maybe be led blindfolded to a wall.
Anonymous 1890491455255851: Every Malaysian knows that this country's level of corruption, exemplified by the leaders of this country, has been going on for years. And little has been done to implement systems to prevent this from happening.
Could this lackadaisical attitude be a result of everyone doing it? It would seem a sensible assumption. In fact, we the people, have to be judged by a much higher standard than those placed in positions of authority. If we steal or break the law, we face the consequences.
Obviously, this is not so for those in government. Being in government allegedly means having the freedom to commit crimes without consequence.
Abasir: As usual, writer Odin Tajué, you have been precise when pointing out the clumsy attempts by the supervising minister and chief secretary Ali Hamsa to minimise the scandalous theft.
And this has happened in tandem with the alleged RM2.6 billion daylight robbery.
Anonymous_40f4: A big scandal like this in the government always involves the very top. So the case will be covered up, no further action. The attorney-general (AG) will perhaps say lack of evidence, so case closed.
RM2.6 billion Sapuman is still walking free and moving around with police outriders. All Malaysians must hang their heads down in shame.
Headhunter: Remember the adage, ‘A fish starts to rot from the head’. And which country has the most rotten ‘fish head’ than Bolehland? -Mkini
