Bersatu has only taken three executive council positions in Kedah’s 10-member state leadership.
The Bersatu executive councillors, who were sworn in today, include Halimaton Shaadiah Saad (Bukit Kayu Hitam), Dzowahir Ab Ghani (Suka Menanti) and Mohd Salleh Saidin (Kubang Rotan).
Berita Harian, citing sources, reported yesterday that Bersatu was unhappy with this arrangement as the party was given five executive council positions in the previous term and the state legislative speaker post.
Kedah ruler Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah oversaw the swearing-in ceremony of the new line-up at Istana Anak Bukit this morning.
It is to be noted that only three executive councillors from the previous line-up were retained for this term, including Halimaton, Mohamad Yusoff @ Munir Zakaria (Kuala Nerang) and Siti Ashah Ghazali (Merbau Pulas).
Among the new faces sworn in include former Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) vice-chancellor Haim Hilman Abdullah (Jitra) and former Kedah football team captain Muhammad Radhi Mat Din (Alor Mengkudu).
Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, on the other hand, holds eight portfolios including state planning, land affairs, minerals and geosciences, earth products, finance, GLCs, state economic action council, Kedah Development 2035, and external cooperations.
