KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) today cleared the air over talks that the coalition was to contest all state seats in the upcoming elections.
Its Information chief Datuk Nizam Titingan said the matter was just a suggestion by Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Datuk Yong Teck Lee and not the view of the GRS coalition.
"We respect his opinion, but it does not represent the collective view of GRS.
"Matters concerning the Sabah State Assembly seats for the upcoming state election have not been discussed by the top leadership of the GRS coalition," he said in a statement.
Nizam added that the focus of the GRS Plus Sabah Unity Government is on remaining committed to implementing all development agendas for the state and the people of Sabah.
"The Sabah government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, the Chief Minister, is stable and functioning well with the support of all parties within GRS and PH Sabah.
"We appreciate and thank the cooperation provided by the leaders of Sabah PH, especially during the 'Langkah Kinabalu' crisis earlier this year, which was triggered by Warisan and some Umno Sabah leaders.
"The support and collaboration that have been established within the GRS Plus Unity Government today can be strengthened and continued for the well-being of the people and the interests of our beloved state of Sabah." he added. - NST
