SETIU: Pas president, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, once again claimed that a victory by Perikatan Nasional (PN) during the upcoming state elections will allow for changes in the federal government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Hadi said this was based on the support of some MPs from the unity government, including from Sabah and Sarawak, who claimed they would throw their support behind PN if the coalition wins the state elections in the six states.
He claimed that the MPs involved were just waiting for the right time to support PN to form a new federal government, including some Umno MPs who had supported PN after the last General Election.
"Originally (there were) 10 Umno MPs who wanted to support us, maybe 15 but they were threatened that there were court cases involving them causing these Umno representatives to be in fear.
"So the unity government was established in a state of chaos, it is a unity government which is at odds with itself, " he said.
Hadi was speaking during a ceramah at the Pas headquarters in Kampung Bukit Kecil Langkap, here last night.
He said that the formation of the new federal government was important to save the nation and the country, and PN's victory was necessary to enable the changes to be made.
He also reminded all Pas officers to work together to ensure PN's victory.
"This is a very big political goal to save our religion, nation and country (so that) it continues to be preserved by Islam... this is very important, this is not play, not a work of buying and selling, paying money (but) a very big responsibility," he said. - NST
