Prove we are against Islam - Amanah dares Kelantan MB

Kelantan Amanah has dared Menteri Besar Nassuruddin Daud to prove his claims that the party’s two newly elected state assemblypersons are involved in actions against Islam.

Kelantan Amanah legal bureau (Kanun) director Hisham Fauzi said the move was necessary as Nassuruddin had openly made the allegations in his lecture in Kota Bharu yesterday.

“We challenged the Kelantan menteri besar to explain and show the people from which aspect Amanah had gone against Islam’s struggle.

“In what circumstances had Amanah rejected Islam? Which decision had shown Amanah as rejecting, opposing, or going against the Islamic creed?” asked Hisham (above).

Nassuruddin in a short video taken during his lecture had declared PAS' victories in the recent six state elections as a victory for Islam.

He also claimed the two seats won in Kelantan by Pakatan Harapan-BN, namely Amanah’s Hafidzah Mustakim in Kota Lama and Umno’s Mohd Syahbudin Hashim in Galas, are now held by those “against the Islamic struggle”.

According to Hisham, Nassuruddin’s claims would create a wrong public perception of the individuals.

He argued that all Muslims have a right to carry out their struggles based on Islam, as taught by Prophet Muhammad SAW, and the right should not be “monopolised” by PAS.

“We stress that such a view (by Nassuruddin) is wrong.

“The Islamic struggle is not 100 percent owned by PAS. It is one as taught by the Prophet, for all Muslims,” he said.

Commenting further, Hisham urged the people of Kelantan not to easily fall for such allegations made by PAS leaders with tendencies to label their opponents as “infidels” or “enemies of Islam”.

“I will continue to stand in Amanah to oppose any extremist efforts in upholding Islam,” he said. - Mkini
