PETALING JAYA: The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are assisting in the investigation into the Elmina plane crash in Shah Alam.
A New Straits Times report said representatives from NTSB, FAA and aircraft manufacturer Beechcraft arrived at the crash site this morning and are inspecting it by flying drones and physically assessing the wreck.
A CAAM spokesman confirmed with FMT that the FAA and NTSB are assisting the local authorities.
“They are there now,” said the spokesman, who added that further queries should be referred to the transport ministry’s Air Accident Investigation Bureau, which is the lead investigator.
FMT has reached out to the transport ministry for comment.
The Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) business jet crashed on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway near Bandar Elmina last Thursday, killing 10, including Pahang executive councillor and Pelangai assemblyman Johari Harun, 53.
The aircraft was on a flight from Langkawi to the Subang airport. It had been cleared to land at 2.48pm but crashed two minutes later. - FMT
